Rapier

Rapier Marshall in Charge – The Honorable Lord Ulfarr Refskegg

Hello Fencers!

All rapier activities will occur on Saturday September 26th. The times are currently subject to change on the events but will adjust if there are any time constraints. The theme for this year’s Baronial Birthday is “The Hunt” As such, the following hunt themed activities will be run!

The Most Dangerous Game Tourney
The most dangerous game is your fellow man. This will be a challenge up tournament. Fencers are encouraged to fight as many fights as possible during the allotted time. Fencers must challenge people of a higher rank than themselves (unranked/BS, Sea Dragon/GS, WS, MoD.) Fighters may challenge the same person multiple times, but cannot fight the same person twice in a row. Fighters may only challenge people of a higher rank but are encouraged to alternate between making and accepting challenges (except for MoDs who cannot issue challenges, and unranked/BS who will exclusively issue challenges). Only the challenger can accrue points. However, there will be a separate prize for the fighter with the most total wins in the end (regardless of rank). As stated, only the challenger(lower level fighter) can earn points. One(1) point is awarded for every limb the challenger takes from their opponent. Five(5) points are awarded for every time a challenger kills their opponent. The overall winner is the fighter with the most points earned at the end of the allotted time. In the case of a tie, the tied fighters will face each other in a single pass to determine the winner.

Deer Hunt Melee
Fighters will be split into two teams of neighboring hunters. Each team will pick one person on their side to be the deer. Each team will try to poach (kill) the other team’s deer, while trying to keep their own deer from being poached. Each team has unlimited res, with their deer acting as a mobile res point. However, once your team’s deer is dead, your team will no longer be able to res. The winner is whichever side completely wipes out the other team. (This may be run more than once.)

Fox Hunt Melee
In this scenario both teams will try to catch all the “foxes”(flags). There will be two to three foxes(flags) depending on numbers. Both sides will have unlimited res. The scenario ends when one side has possession of all the foxes(flags) at the same time. In order to gain possession of a “fox”, a team must place it in the flag holder with their color tape facing up. Foxes may NOT be removed from the general area of their specified flag holder. If killed while holding a fox, the fighter must immediately lay it on the ground next to the flag holder. Fighters need to have an open hand in order to handle a fox, and the fox may NOT be used as a parry device. (This may be run more than once if desired.)

Grand Hunt Melee
This is an ‘every person for themselves’ grand melee. The last person left alive is he winner. Fighters may not immediately attack the person to either side of them at lay on but may do so once those fighters have engaged with someone else. (Could be run more than once depending on time.)

The Hunt for Fun and Knowledge
Any remaining time will be spent on pick-ups.

I hope to see all of you there!

YIS,

THL Ulfarr Refskegg
