Stierbach Baronial Birthday – Equestrian Schedule
9/25 Friday:
Set up in the morning (9 to noon)
Site officially opens at noon
Friday afternoon – evening – Arena will be open for warm up and practice. We may do pony meet and greet if there is enough of a crowd.
9/26 Saturday:
9am – 10am: Ground crew class and authorizations
10am: Court
After court to 12pm: Individual Hunting Challenge
12-1pm: Lunch Break
1-3:30pm: Team Hunting Challenge
3:30pm-4pm: Prep for picnic (Set up day shade, rugs, etc.)
4pm: Court
6pm: Picnic
7pm: Torchlight activity if sufficient participants are available.
9/27 Sunday:
8am: Pancake Breakfast
10am – noon: Pack up and leave site by noon
Individual Hunting Challenge:
A rival bull is challenging Stierbach for control of the herd; the challenge will leave the winner weak. The herd is stronger if you eliminate the competitor before it has the chance to wound the herdleader. Riders must throw missiles (Javelin or plumbata) at a series of three targets.
Bull Ring Challenge:
Stierbach’s bull has broken loose; seize the ring to bring him back to the herd.
Use a ring lance to spear a ring off the bull’s back.
Deposit the ring in a bucket to give honor to your inspiration.
Team Hunting Challenge:
Stierbach’s bull has a rival and the two are too closely matched. If they fight, both bulls will be so damaged that the herd will be weakened. The riders must hunt and kill the weaker bull. Pride demands that they also demonstrate their skills as riders and hunters.
During the hunt the riders must:
· Organize and plan the hunt
· Clear the area and set the stage for the final kill
· Track and chase the prey
· Kill the bull
· Offer the prize/spoils to their inspiration.
